Founder Barry Verragio began his career in the jewelry industry at just 14 years old as an apprentice, advancing to a master jeweler throughout the years. Eager to pursue his passion of creating something beautiful out of nothing, Verragio arrived in the U.S. from Moscow, pursuing schooling wile working as a bench jeweler. After attending the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, Verragio spent twenty years designing fine jewelry for some of the most well-known jewelry houses in the world. These decades enabled him to master the art of ring design, and eventually create his own revolutionary setting technique that suspends the center stone in mid-air, allowing more light to enter and reflect from the diamond. It was this “Lumino Setting” upon which the designer founded Verragio.
Each Verragio engagement ring and wedding band begins as a sketch by a Verragio designer. Every engagement ring is designed is guided with a focusing on the center stone and feminine detail to make the ring come alive. The sketch is then transformed into a 3D image through Computer Aided Design (CAD). Next, the design comes to life and is crafted into a white gold, yellow gold, rose gold, or platinum ring by a Verragio goldsmith. Each accent diamond expertly selected to match in color, proportion and clarity and hand set.
