The name Ferrari conjures up beautiful design, powerful engines and constant innovation, reflecting the vision of Enzo Ferrari, who founded an enduring legend. Montblanc honours him with the Great Characters Enzo Ferrari Special Edition. Drawing on the crest of Modena, his birthplace, and the yellow of Scuderia Ferrari’s emblem, this pen features his birthdate and first race victory engraved on the cone. His signature and his father’s workshop name, 'Officina Meccanica Alfredo Ferrari', appear on the cap top. A blue Montblanc emblem alludes to the colours of Modena and is surrounded by intricate metalwork reminiscent of vintage car grilles. The story behind Ferrari’s prancing horse emblem also appears. At the 1932 Spa 24 Hours, cars bearing the Cavallino Rampante on yellow backgrounds finished first and second. The horse symbol and Countess Paolina Biancoli’s words 'Le porterà fortuna' ('It will bring you luck'), are engraved on the cap. Twelve lines on the body represent the twelve cylinders of the first Ferrari car, the 125 S, which left the Maranello factory on 12 March 1947.
