Montblanc’s Writers Edition honours Jane Austen, one of England’s most beloved authors. The design recalls the Regency period of grand country estates and arranged marriages. Sandstone grey resin on the barrel is fluted like a classical column and bears Austen’s signature. A contrasting grey blue cap mirrors the double collared coats worn by gentlemen such as Mr. Darcy. Gold coated bands and platinum plated accents finish the piece. On the cap ring, Roman numerals XLIII refer to the chapter where Elizabeth Bennet first sees Mr. Darcy’s estate. The cap top displays 'By a Lady', as the title page of Sense and Sensibility originally credited, alongside the Montblanc emblem. The instrument’s silhouette echoes a wax seal stamp. The clip, shaped like a braided cord with a drawstring, recalls the reticules women carried around 1800.
